Historical background
The site of one of the earliest Nantlle slate quarries, operational
by the middle of the eighteenth century, and for a while the
most profitable and productive in the area. Closed following
rock-falls in the 1820s, and revived in the later nineteenth
century.

Reclaimed industrial land
Completely landscaped in 1978-9, removing everything of historical
interest (at least on the surface).
