Undertaking a general photographic survey When buildings of particular architectural or historical interest are affected by development the developer may have to employ an archaeologist to undertake a programme of Archaeological Building Investigation and Recording. A professional archaeological contractor will need to be employed to undertake such a programme of work. Where buildings of more local significance are affected by development the applicant may be asked to undertake a general photographic survey of the building.
